As the government are trying to introduce new laws to combat metal theft, CCTV cameras and security deterrents can help fight against the theft of lead, copper and other valuable metals.
As metal prices rise almost daily, opportunist thieves are turning to stealing valuable metal such as copper and lead. It's just not the obvious items that contain the sought-after metals. Power lines and cables are also also being targeted for their metal contents which can cause inconvenience and disruption.

Only today we were contacted by one of our customers who was recently been an unfortunate victim of metal theft. Thieves broke in to a commercial Plant Room where they stole cables and other metal items which offer great value as scrap metal. In additions, lead was stolen from the roof to add insult to injury.
Our solution was to upgrade and increase the camera count on the existing CCTV Camera System allowing monitoring and recording the high risk areas where metal theft may be prone to happen. As most thefts will happen at night, CCTV cameras with IR (infrared) lighting will allow you to view scenes in little or no light.
As time is of the essence with the fear of thieves returning, our customer has taken advantage for our fixed price, low cost CCTV installation service. Within a few days, our engineers will visit the site and upgrade the DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to an 8 channel DVR from a 4 channel DVR to accommodate another 3 additional CCTV cameras with Infra Red night vision.
Further down the scale, a simple CCTV Sign or Sticker could be a cheaper alternative and an excellent deterrent to rising metal thefts.
