Police in Bangkok have decided to install CCTV cameras inside dummy policemen to view and discourage drivers from breaking road traffic laws. Here at DIYCCTVDirect.com, we had to double check it wasn't April 1st when we read this!
This news was announced at the National Electronics and Computer Technology Centre (Nectec) by Metropolitan police deputy chief Phanu Kerdlarppol. The project we have named 'CCTV for Dummies' plans to install CCTV cameras inside fake policemen all named ' Pol Sgt Choey'. Choey means idle in Thai.
The advantage of 'CCTV for Dummies' is not only the visual impact for drivers, but the installed CCTV cameras will record and identify lawbreakers which will lead to their arrest. Pol Sgt Choey will initially be placed in areas where traffic laws are broken frequently.
